LUTHER — THE METHOD AND FRUITS OF JUSTIFICATION
(Note that when he says 'require' or 'necessary' he is speaking in the philosophical sense, as in - "it naturally follows" or "it is by definition." Luther is not using these words in a "law" or imperative sense - as if you ARE required to do something to ensure you are saved or to maintain yourself in a state of justification before God.)
