Where did Ingrid's articles go Brannon? (UPDATED X3)

Originally posted on 9/12/11  7:37 pm

Just noticed Ingrid Schlueter's articles and bio have all disappeared off of Worldview Weekend, as well as all the google cache copies.  Just the comments are left.  Just like the David Barton articles.   That's a pretty clean sweep.   She had some great articles.  People linked to those articles. So what is going on now?  All she's doing is mostly blogging about mom stuff since Spring.  Who's pulling strings?  What is going on?  Can anyone get an answer?

UPDATE 9-14-2011  10:20 AM

Well apparently the stuff has hit the fan again.  Ingrid cannot seem to catch a break, but then when you are surrounded in your extended family and workplace with social/career climbers, user/abusers, that is not surprising.  Unfortunately the details coming out about Brannon's behavior and unforgiving nature here are such that I cannot imagine promoting him or his materials again until there is some sort of major repentance going on.  I don't know how that will look, because the web is so tangled.

Ingrid may not be perfect, but she is real.  She has suffered under a very difficult and abusive relationship  for over 40 years (so obviously it is not Tom!)  This ought to give people some grace for her.  She is finally becoming able to get out from under it, and as so often happens, the abuser is working his "magic," trying to punish her.  I can only imagine how oppressive that must be.  I have seen it so many times in alcoholic and dry drunk relationships.

Somehow I manage to alienate those sorts of people long before they get their tentacles around me.  I don't know how I do it.  Maybe it's this prickly exterior.  Since it serves me so well, I think I'll keep it.  My real friends know how to get around it.  And while they aren't perfect (like me) they are true. I  don't need to 'guess' where I stand with them from day to day.

To Brannon, if this makes me a "groupie," as you called Ingrid's friends, so be it.  You are a sick and shallow man.  I pray God grants you repentance.

UPDATE #2. 9-16-2011 10:40pm
I got to thinking I wonder if Brannon would be the type to threaten to sue someone over this kind of thing. That would for one thing be a clear violation of 1 Corinthians 6 here in addition to the violation of Matt 18 which has already taken place. But it would not surprise me. That is exactly the same kind of game played by purpose driven pastors who get criticized. Play the slander/libel card. Unfortunately censorship does not become a pastor or Christian leader. It would be odd to see someone in discernment, who's said so much against this sort of behavior, to try it on their own critics. But, I've had it happen to me as well when I namelessly criticized Jan Markell for pussyfooting around the issue of the horrific false teaching TBN, when she was talking on air about the Hal Lindsey cancellation.

I mean, Chris Rosebrough didn't even do that to Ingrid or any of her supporters that I know of. Chris at least was smart enough to realize that he couldn't spend his life online criticizing other supposed Christians who are teaching falsehood, knowing he cannot be sued for publicly disagreeing with them or their unethical behavior, and then turn around and threaten his own fans for criticizing him. That would be a blatant double standard and would do even more damage to a ministry than anyone calling the leader on the carpet for what they see as wrong and petty behavior. I sure hope Brannon isn't silly enough to try something like that. (cough)

UPDATE #3 9-24-2011 11:45 am

Well Well Well, it's like all these Christian leaders are reading from the same playbook. When questioned, pull out the gossip/slander/libel card and threaten lawsuit if possible. I think Brannon has read "Transitioning" by Dan Southerland.

"Jim" posts how Brannon actually did threaten him with a lawsuit for pleading with him to do what is right, on Brannon's facebook wall:

Jim De Arras

This is the email I received after simply questioning his decision in email, and ONCE on his FB page: Not attacking him other than the one sentence “you will reap what you sow”.

Jim,

I am sorry you feel the way you do but you do not know all the facts.

——— ——- is a federally registered trademark and is a national organization that is largely based on my credibility and reputation. You seem to be seeking to harm our company and my reputation. I am asking you to stop posting negative comments on our facebook page that are seeking to damage my reputation. I don’t know if you are familiar with the laws in relation to liable and slander. You should do your homework. I am coming to you as a Christian to ask you to stop. If you post anymore comments on our facebook or send out anymore e-mails that are an attack on my character and reputation, I will be left with no choice other than to turn this over to our corporate attorney.

Sincerely,
——- —–

Mighty nice of him to threaten to sue me “as a Christian”

Jim

btw, the blanks left were for 'worldview weekend' - so apparently you cannot use that name without infringing copyright, just like Purpose Driven. Oh, it's only been registered for about a month now...

Here is the full exchange between him and Brannon. He had forwarded to Brannon all the supposed nasty emails between Brannon and Ingrid. I also had received a copy of them.. They were not nasty at all. But even so she later apologized, even though it was Brannon who owed her an apology for betraying her trust. This was an apology which he ACCEPTED... then later apparently took it back without having the guts to tell her.

I am not trying to harm you in any way shape or form. I am trying to persuade you to stop harming Ingrid and her reputation. We both know what is going on, here. You are free to unfriend and block me on FB. I am free to express my opinion on matters as I see them. If I am missing fact, please enlighten me. Your story keeps changing, we have that documented. I also hope you realize the laws regarding liable and slander are different for public figures.

I was a great fan and supported of yours until this past weekend. I am free to express my dislike of that events and the apparent, I repeat apparent reasons behind them. They are my opinions, and you are free to correct me, But you are not free to sue me over my publically expressed opinion.

As a Christian, I say again, you WILL reap what you sow. Look within for the decline in your ministry.

Jim

Jim, what you need to understand is that I have the right to carry who I want to on my site. I have no obligation to carry anyone. If you don’t like who I do or do not carry that is fine; start your own website. However, the choice is mine and my choosing not to carry someone is not an issue of umbilical action.

I am not going to continue wasting my time arguing with you and neither do I owe you, or anyone else, a reason for why I have the columnists I do or do not.

I have come to you and asked you to stop trying to post things on our facebook that are untrue. I pray you do the right thing.

I understand your rights on your web. I run many websites. No one is asking you to restore anyone, anymore. The issue is the "libel and slander" you cast against Ingrid as your initial reason for removing the articles. You changed your story when the truth of the emails came out.

As to libel, I can post my opinion based on the best information available to me in an honest attempt to discover what happened. If you have better information, I am ready to see it and apologize publically where I was mistaken,

"libel of a public official requires proof of actual malice, which was defined as a knowing or reckless disregard for the truth."

I am not attempting to harm you, in fact, I am trying to help recover a Christian brother. You, however, seem to have actual malice against Ingrid.

I really admired you until this. It hurts me more than I can say to see this side of you.

I will not post on your page anymore.

So there you have it, Brannon has indeed foolishly threatened to sue someone who was a supporter, simply because they questioned his actions and posted a link to Ingrid's blog ("Confessions of a useful idiot" ) on Brannon's wall. It's funny that he hasn't threatened Ingrid yet, since she was the one who made the blog post. Then again, both Ingrid and Brannon know the rules of free speech... and Brannon knows Ingrid knows. So why bluff?

I can imagine how much good it would do to his "reputation" for Brannon to sue a fellow nobody average Christian because on the internet he said disagreeable things about him. I can just see the judge trying to suppress a guffaw.

Ingrid pulled "Confessions of a Useful Idiot" down (I have a copy completely with all comments, from her) when she closed down her blog for a while, but she has essentially reiterated her concern at her blog again in the "Update on the Hope Blog" post.

What a model Christian leader Brannon is, don't you think? Browbeating those who question. Just an inspirational, admirable move! Just top-notch! I haven't even seen Rick Warren threaten to sue anyone yet for all the criticism he gets, but I have seen him whip out the gossip/slander card like every other purpose driven Christian leader seems to when they are questioned for their duplicitous behavior behind closed doors. Then again, if Rick was losing share, maybe Rick would stoop that low. Maybe the real solution is for Brannon to just cultivate a charming personality like Rick's.

This is typical control freak, power grabbing behavior.

"It should not be so among you" Jesus warned. Apparently that verse isn't in Brannon's translation.
