Good grief, he's sounding more and more like Rick Warren. Sad.
How is this any different? Rick Warren said "I’m looking for a second reformation. The first reformation of the church 500 years ago was about beliefs. This one is going to be about behavior. The first one was about creeds. This one is going to be about deeds. It is not going to be about what does the church believe, but about what is the church doing." So Os is calling for a moral revival, how is that any different from what the Left is calling for (their own morality of caring for the poor, social justice). It isn't going to work. We are fallen creatures and the only hope is the gospel. Os should be calling for the church to preach the gospel. I rarely hear it these days. It's assumed. The gospel assumed is the gospel denied. (Which is a A REALLY good article by Rev Herbert Mueller, LC-MS).
Also, note in the article what he says is good evidence of the renaissance that are growing up through the 'cement' -- The Wedgwood Circle, The International Justice movement, Socrates in the city???
Good grief. And that's just the tip of the iceberg in this article.
