From ocregister.com, "Calvary Baptist Church board takes shape":

YORBA LINDA – A three-member faction of the board of Calvary Baptist Church of Yorba Linda that opposed informing members of alleged misdeeds by two former pastors gained control of the church Sunday night.

The three met without the other two board members Saturday to pick five new board members, who were all approved by a vote of the congregation Sunday night.

Members who wanted to nominate other candidates were silenced by board member James Hutchings, who told them, “If you can’t get with us, then go.”

Well looks as though they’re lining up the yes-men!

And YES they are PD, in case you hadn’t guessed.

A very sad day locally - the bridge collapse

Albert Mohler has a good article to think about on this day after the tragic collapse of the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis.

I was just stuck on that bridge in the one lane of traffic last week. In my circuitous attempt at trying to turn around in that area, I was on it three times in an hour. I had two of my children with me.

And similarly, so many people today will say “I was on that bridge just hours/minutes/moments before it collapsed.” or “I usually drive over that bridge at that time but today…” something was different.

Thank the Lord for his mercy, that he spared you through circumstances and pray that the Lord will use this to draw people to him for salvation. Pray for the comfort of the families of those lost in this tragic accident and that they too will turn to the Lord.
